put fred on the back burner

began another self portrait.

forgive the camera quality. I propped the paper up onto the sink in my bathroom (you know it has the best lighting - least I thought it would.)… and snapped the shot.

– it’s killing me! I began this a month back, but about an hour ago I decided to pencil pores and other details so minute that my mind and body are collapsing from the efforts.

guess this has been one of those weeks! I’m just too tired to be “arty”

methinks I’ll take a page from the book of Dali and draw Freudian references; lucid dreams, the subconscious, etc. I love beauty for beauty’s sake, and of course I have a “thing” for provoking empathy by way of art, BUT, I think my next few portraits will aim for personal derivatives, i.e., random memories, personified portions of conversation…

just a preface. I know it takes the fun out of wondering the why and how, but I wanted to explain beforehand what my new pieces would be, as opposed to allowing my “audience” (the vanity! all 3 of you!) to assume that new portraits were created for shock…

I actually began one a few days back. I think it’ll be… interesting.

Yay! I’ve hopped on to the blog bandwagon. Why the switch in format? Honestly, I’m a dunce with html, and I found trying to upkeep a “presentable” website (with no template or guidelines) both perplexing and aggravating. Blogging should prove an easier way to update for my pieces, and more importantly, it serves as a platform for endless rants and rambles :)

I kid, I kid! I’ll (try to) keep this strictly [narcissistic and] art-related.
